Edwyn Charles Huang AKA Eddie Huang is an American chef and one of the popular restaurateurs. He is also known for his profession as an attorney, food personality, author and producer. The chef and famous restaurateur was born as Edwyn Charles Huang in 1982 in Washington, D.C. and therefore his nationality is American. He was born to the parents named Louis Huang (father) and Jessica Huang (mother) who migrated to the United States from Taiwan. Regarding his ancestral background, his father was the resident of Hunan whereas his mother was from Shandong of Mainland China. Huang spent his early days in Silver Spring, Maryland. His father used to operate a successful group of steak and seafood restaurants in Orlando, Florida including Cattleman’s Ranch Steakhouse, Atlantic Bay Seafood and Grill and so on. He contributed the Minority Law Students Association as its President and was also the part of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association as its Vice-President. Career and Professional Life

Huang earlier worked at the New York City-based law firm Chadbourne & Parke as an attorney. In 2006, he operated a streetwear company which was named Bergdorf Hoodman and later renamed to Hoodman Clothing. He worked alongside Art Director Ning Juang. The duo first met at Taiwan.

 

Career as a Chef

Huang developed an interest in cooking from his childhood days being inspired by his mother who used to cook at his home. Because of his father’s successful restaurants, he got an opportunity to learn different cooking techniques from chefs of different cultural backgrounds. Huang appeared in the Cooking Channel as a host for the Cheap Bites in 2011. He frequently appeared in Unique Eats untill leaving the Cooking Channel. He later joined Viceland for the show Fresh Off the Boat which was later renamed Huang’s World. A show entitled Fresh Off the Boat was released in 2014 in ABC where Hudson Yang played the role of Eddie. The series was based in Eddie’s book.
